Watched Kare11 last night and found out that my son was awarded the
2008 North Suburban Defensive Player fo the Year
and also was named to the
2008 All-Metro Team.

Totino Grace vs Orono Oct 31, 2008

Bittersweet

The season is officially over for the Totino Grace Eagles and it is bittersweet. First, the final game was outstanding with two fine teams battling it out for the right to be Section Champs and move onto State. It was a very close game and could have gone either way. I did enjoy watching my son do his famous Superman move to block a field goal attempt and keep us in the lead late in the 4th qtr. However it was not to be as the Orono Spartans made a fantastic touchdown to take the lead and then to seal the deal they caught an interception and won the game.

When asked at a family gathering the next day I had only this to say:

"What my son has achieved at Totino Grace high school in his four years on the football team is beyond our wildest dreams. He has won not one but two state championships, something most kids only dream of, and he has only lost 3 games in his entire career with the Eagles going undefeated for two of the four. He has over 25 schools looking at him for a football scholarship. We are truly blessed."

So ends a great high school career and now we move forward to look at colleges and wait for Saturday tailgating and more football to come. I hope Ellen will give me all the fun inside scoop on the proper way to tailgate!
