Panthers and recruiters, all in a days work!

There are days that happen in your life that just surprise the heck outta ya. Friday was that kind of day. The day started, well for me it was amazing. I got to go to a sale, then the market and it was for work. Shopping as part of my work day- fantabulous!! But the best was yet to come. First the email came. From a recruiter interested in seeing my son play football that evening vs Spring Lake Park. The panthers had an axe to grind as we bumped them from what seemed like their dream team run for the championship last year. They even have a banner on the side of their school where they pummel a TG player. It's true- we make friends everywhere. But back to the game. It went 1-2-3 punt, 1-2-3 punt then the panthers caught a break and drove the ball down to our 10. On a pass play Brandon intercepted in the end zone and ran for 5 yards preventing them from getting on the board first and changing the momentum of the game. It was a critical play and he was perfect. They never got that close again as our offense came to life and our defence was inpenetrable. Final score, Eagles 33 Panthers 0 (which means dougnnuts for the guys at films on Sat).
Totino-Grace 7 14 6 6 - 33
Spring Lk Pk 0 0 0 0 - 0

TG-Crockett 62 run (Kocon kick)TG-Crocket 11 run (Kocon kick)TG-Jervaif 1 run (Kocon kick)TG-Crocket 9 run (kick failed)TG-Kinnan 1 run (pass failed)

Junior halfback John Crockett opened the scoring with a 62-yard touchdown run, and the Eagles shut out the Panthers. Crockett added 11- and 9-yard scoring runs while rushing for 157 yards on 11 carries.

Ok ready for the icing on the cake.?I talked with my boy after the game and mentioned that I had heard from a recruiter that they had come to see him. He said he knew, that they were at the school that day. He said it was a big deal for the MN Gophers to show up. WHAT????? Yes, there was a few recruiters there, not just the school that emailed me, but also the Gophers, THE Div 1 Gophers, there to see MY son play along with his teammates. WOOOOOHOOOO!!! I don't know if you have seen the new stadium they are building but we have been past it a few times and Brandon wants to play there. It holds somewhere around 50,000 people.

Friday, it was a very good day!!!!!!!!
